A puppeteer, he made his debut at the Guignol du Parc de la Tête d'Or, before creating his own theater in 1968. "la Maison de Guignol" at the bottom of the Gourguillon. In the early 80s, he attended the Festival d'Orgues de Barbarie in Oingt, Beaujolais, and decided to build his own organ. From then on, he took part in various Mechanical Music Festivals throughout France. Roger knew some Chansons Lyonnaises and set about finding others to add to his repertoire, all of which were "notated" on organ cards by his friend Paul Eynard. Soon the public asked him to sing them, but he didn't want to sing alone, so he contacted another organ player, Georges Garnier, and they started rehearsing. Then, on the occasion of a concert, Roger met Gilles Turier, who was already singing in a choir, and the "JOROGIL" trio was born: JO (Georges) RO (Roger) GIL (Gilles). In 1995, the trio took part in their first Festival International d'Orgues de Barbarie in Oingt. The group travels all over France the "JOROGIL" have recorded several cassettes featuring only Chansons Lyonnaises.
