Peynet Raymond. Deformable doll of technigomme manufacture. - Lot 159
Peynet Raymond. Deformable doll of technigomme manufacture. Paris. In its box without lid. Ancestor of the Barbie doll: female body, brown nylon hair divided into two duvets; she is dressed in a pink and white checkered gingham dress, on her head a flowery green straw hat. Under the dress is a lace-lined petticoat; she is wearing black ballerinas and white socks and carries a black bag with gold chain. This model of the Parisian woman that Raymond Peynet liked to sketch is inspired by Brigitte Bardot's wedding to Jacques Charrier in 1959. Indeed she wore a similar dress and launched the gingham fashion. (A sock and a ballerina are missing.)
