"At the home of a painter friend, I discovered a canvas left on loan by Vincent Bioulés in 1983. A magnificent work, important for its position in Bioulés' work, at the end of the periods, rigorous abstract and surface support, it marks his passage to figuration, with the imprint of Matisse's famous door. My friend informed Vincent Bioulés of my offer to buy the painting, and Bioulés quickly contacted me, agreeing to an exchange, with me providing him with equipment that would enable him to listen to music in ideal conditions. He offered to bring me the painting within 15 days. Since then, it has taken part in several exhibitions in France, its importance in the artist's work confirmed by its reproduction in the catalogs" (The Collector).
